Wärtsilä Corporation has recently signed a Lifecycle Agreement with CMA Ships, a subsidiary of leading French shipping company CMA CGM, for 14 large LNG-fuelled container ships. This agreement aims to optimize operations and maintenance for these vessels, ensuring operational reliability and long-term cost predictability.
Wärtsilä’s Full-Service Package:
Under the terms of the agreement, Wärtsilä will provide a full-service package that includes the use of their Expert Insight service, leveraging AI technology for predictive maintenance. This service will help improve asset efficiency, reduce operating costs, and provide parts and maintenance services, dynamic maintenance planning, and 24/7 remote operational support.

Tailored Agreement for CMA CGM:
Andrea Morgante, Vice President of Performance Services at Wärtsilä Marine, expressed satisfaction in continuing the successful partnership with CMA CGM through this tailored agreement. The agreement is designed to meet CMA CGM’s specific needs, ensuring that their ships continue to deliver reliable, flexible, and sustainable shipping services globally.
Operational Vessels Details:
The 14 operational vessels covered by the agreement sail between Asia and Europe and comprise five 15,000 TEU ships and nine 23,000 TEU ships. These ships operate with WinGD 2-stroke main engines and Wärtsilä 4-stroke auxiliary engines, along with gas valve units (GVUs).
