Wärtsilä Expands LNG Bunkering Capabilities

Wärtsilä Gas Solutions, a key player in the technology sector, is solidifying its leadership in small-scale LNG applications. The company has recently secured a significant contract to build a new LNG bunkering vessel. This vessel, with a capacity of 12,500 cubic meters, is being constructed at the Nantong CIMC Sinopacific Offshore & Engineering shipyard in China. The vessel is commissioned by Vitol, a global energy company, and will incorporate Wärtsilä’s advanced Cargo Handling and Fuel Gas Supply systems. This contract was officially booked in the fourth quarter of 2024, marking a notable achievement for Wärtsilä in the growing LNG market.
