Yanmar Acquires CLAAS India to Strengthen Agribusiness in India
Yanmar Holdings Co., Ltd. has announced the acquisition of CLAAS India, a well-known manufacturer of agricultural machinery, through Yanmar Coromandel Agrisolutions, a subsidiary. With a closing date of September 30, 2024, the agreement aims to increase Yanmar’s market share in the Indian agricultural industry. Through the integration of CLAAS India’s state-of-the-art production facilities and proficiency in making superior combine harvesters, Yanmar hopes to broaden its range of products and strengthen its position in one of the world’s principal grain-producing regions.

Kemal Shoshi underlined the acquisition’s strategic significance, emphasising that it will boost Yanmar’s position in India’s vital agricultural market and enable it to offer a wider range of products. The company intends to provide better agricultural solutions to a wider consumer base by utilising the combined expertise of Yanmar and CLAAS India.
The CEO of CLAAS Group, Jan-Hendrik Mohr, recognised that Yanmar and CLAAS had similar principles, especially with regards to their shared dedication to client relations and technical quality. Mohr wished Yanmar well but gave CLAAS’s assurance that it will keep up with its machinery and grow its engineering and sourcing activities in India. An important step has been taken in the continuing development of both firms’ agricultural machinery offerings in the Indian market with this acquisition.
