Wärtsilä Signs 6-Year Lifecycle Agreement with Nautica Ship Management

Wärtsilä and Nautica Ship Management Sign Six-Year Lifecycle Agreement

Technology group Wärtsilä has entered a six-year Lifecycle Agreement with Malaysia-based Nautica Ship Management to ensure the optimal performance of exhaust gas treatment systems on two vessels, the MTT Saisunee and MTT Senari. These feeder container vessels are equipped with Wärtsilä hybrid scrubber systems. The agreement, booked in Q2 2024, aims to maintain maximum efficiency and compliance with environmental regulations.

Azreen Nor Bin Mohamad, Senior Technical Superintendent of Nautica Ship Management, emphasized the importance of the agreement: “It is central to our commitment to sustainable operations that the scrubber systems on these vessels are working with optimal efficiency. This enables the ships to comply with the relevant environmental regulations. We know Wärtsilä well, and our experience with their agreements on other vessels in our fleet has been excellent. It was natural, therefore, that we continue this relationship for these two vessels.”

The agreement includes remote access capabilities for seamless monitoring and troubleshooting of the Exhaust Gas Cleaning (EGC) systems. This feature ensures prompt responses and minimal downtime, enhancing the reliability of the vessels.

David Xu, Wärtsilä Area Sales Manager in Singapore, expressed his satisfaction with the partnership: “We are pleased to recognize Nautica’s professional approach to maintaining and future-proofing their fleet and are proud to support them with this agreement. We constantly upgrade and improve our solutions in line with the latest and best available technology. Our 24/7 service, and especially the remote access feature, gives us the opportunity to provide immediate support and troubleshooting for these vessels, while delivering important cost savings.”

Wärtsilä’s Lifecycle Agreements offer long-term cost predictability and availability through data-driven technical support and maintenance. Ship operators benefit from proactive support and expert recommendations from Wärtsilä Expertise Centres, optimizing maintenance intervals and preventing unexpected downtime.

Nautica Ship Management previously signed Lifecycle Agreements for two other vessels, the MTT Samalaju and MTT Semporna.
