COSCO and ONE Expand Shipping Services Across Gulf and India Region
Leading container lines COSCO Shipping and Ocean Network Express (ONE) have announced exciting new changes to their shipping networks in the Middle East and Indian Subcontinent. These changes are expected to make shipping between India and the Gulf region easier and faster, strengthening regional trade and improving port connections.
Starting in late October, ONE will join hands with Global Feeder Shipping by offering shipping slots on the Colombo China Gulf service. At the same time, COSCO will introduce its new OUX service, expanding its reach across key Gulf locations.
ONE’s New India Coastal Express Service
ONE’s latest service will focus on improving shipping within India and connecting it with Gulf ports. The carrier will operate four ships, each carrying about 3,100 TEUs (Twenty-foot Equivalent Units, a measure of cargo capacity). The service will be called India Coastal Express and aims to provide reliable and extensive connections along India’s coastline.
The planned route includes major Indian ports such as:
- Mundra
- Pipavav
- Mangalore
- Kochi
- Kattupalli
- Visakhapatnam
- Colombo (Sri Lanka)
The route will follow a loop, ensuring smooth cargo movement by circling back through these ports and finishing at Mundra. This service will not only support local businesses but also enhance international trade between India and the Gulf region.
COSCO’s OUX Service Expands Gulf Connections
Meanwhile, COSCO Shipping is launching its new OUX service, focusing on port calls in the Gulf region. According to shipping experts at Alphaliners, the OUX service will run every week with a 1,000-TEU container ship.
The OUX route will include stops at:
- Abu Dhabi (UAE)
- Sohar (Oman)
- Ajman (UAE)
After completing the loop, the ship will return to Abu Dhabi, providing steady and reliable service throughout the Gulf.
