GTT receives an order from HD Hyundai Samho for the tank design of two new Ultra Large Ethane Carriers
GTT Partners with HD Hyundai Samho to Build Tanks for Two Huge Ethane Carriers
GTT, a global leader in advanced tank technology, announced a new project in the third quarter of 2024. The company will work with HD Hyundai Samho, a well-known shipyard from South Korea, to design special tanks for two Ultra Large Ethane Carriers (ULECs). These two massive ships, ordered by Eastern Pacific Shipping shipping company, will each carry 150,000 cubic meters of cargo.
Advanced Tank Technology for Liquefied Gases
GTT will design the tanks for the vessels using its Mark III membrane containment system. This system is built to handle a variety of liquefied gases, including Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) and gases from the petrochemical industry. The flexible design allows the ships to operate efficiently throughout their lifespan, offering broad cargo-handling abilities.
