NYK Group Unveils Innovative Solutions at Logis-Tech Tokyo 2025

Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha (NYK), along with its subsidiaries Yusen Logistics Co., Ltd. (YL) and Symphony Creative Solutions Pte. Ltd. (SCS), participated in the “Logis-Tech Tokyo 2025 — The 4th Innovation Expo” held at Tokyo Big Sight from September 10 to 12. The event showcased a variety of cutting-edge logistics solutions, emphasizing space-related initiatives as part of the companies’ new business avenues. A key highlight was the joint presentation titled “Ocean x Space,” which focused on the intersection of maritime and aerospace logistics.

Highlighting Cutting-Edge Logistics Innovations

On September 11, NYK and YL captivated the audience with their collaborative presentation themed “Ocean x Space.” Masahiro Kogawa, assistant manager of NYK’s Advanced Tech and Space Business Development Team, introduced the NYK Digital Academy. This new initiative aims to spur business development through innovative ventures that bridge ocean and space industries. One notable project discussed was the offshore recovery of reusable rockets, a pioneering initiative originating from the Academy.

Hiroyuki Ushioda, manager of YL’s Aerospace Sales Section, presented compelling case studies related to the procurement of satellite and rocket components. He highlighted the logistics services the company provides for both production and finished products, leveraging YL’s extensive global network and specialized aerospace team. This presentation illustrated the companies’ commitment to advancing logistics efficiency in the aerospace sector.

SCS, co-founded by NYK, also took the stage to discuss its logistics-focused IT solutions. The company showcased its app, CargoNote, which standardizes logistics workflows and facilitates real-time reporting across logistics operations. This innovative approach aims to enhance operational efficiency, making it a vital tool for logistics professionals across various industries.

The Logis-Tech Tokyo 2025 exhibition is recognized as one of Asia’s largest logistics trade shows. It is held biennially and attracts a diverse array of logistics professionals from multiple sectors. This year, the event successfully drew a considerable number of visitors over its three-day duration, reflecting the importance of innovation in logistics. Attendees had the opportunity to explore a wide range of solutions that could transform the logistics landscape.
