Detention of “Ventura” in Gdynia Due to Safety Deficiencies

The cargo vessel “Ventura” was detained in Gdynia, Poland, upon its arrival on February 18, 2016. An inspection revealed eight critical deficiencies that prompted the detention. The issues ranged from inoperative radio communication systems to serious fire safety hazards. The deficiencies included malfunctioning fire detection systems and a non-compliant sewage treatment plant.
