Fjordtind Ferry Faces Delays Due to Technical Issues

The ‘Fjordtind,’ a ferry operating on the Bodø-Gildeskål route, has encountered several technical problems leading to service disruptions. Most recently, on March 4, 2026, the ferry was running approximately 15 minutes late. Despite this delay, the operator, Reis Nordland, urged passengers to arrive at the scheduled time to minimize further disruptions.

Recent Disruptions on the Bodø-Gildeskål Route

On September 14, 2026, the ‘Fjordtind’ faced significant technical difficulties that resulted in the cancellation of its scheduled sailing from Bodø at 09:20 a.m. This cancellation also affected the route connecting Fleinvær, Sør-Arnøy, Våg, Inndyr, and back to Bodø. To accommodate stranded travelers from Sør-Arnøy, Reis Nordland arranged alternative transport using the ferry ‘Elsa Laula Renberg,’ ensuring that those who were scheduled to travel at 10:30 a.m. were able to reach Bodø. Following the issues in the morning, the ‘Fjordtind’ resumed operations in the afternoon with additional stops at Mevær and Sørvær, along with its regular route.

Earlier, on January 4, 2025, the ‘Fjordtind’ experienced another technical setback while serving the Bodø-Væran route. During this incident, the ‘Nordic Lady’ was deployed as a replacement ferry. It began its service from Bodø at 09:15 a.m., covering the Sør-Landegode, Vokkøy, Helligvær, Givær, and Bliksvær routes. The ferry departed from the floating dock located near the Stormen Library at 4 p.m. that same day.

With these ongoing technical issues, Reis Nordland is working to ensure reliable ferry service while keeping passengers informed about any changes or delays. Travelers are encouraged to stay updated on ferry schedules and possible alternatives during disruptions to their planned journeys.
