Bureau Veritas Celebrates Delivery of Two Crown 63 PLUS Bulk Carriers

Bureau Veritas Marine & Offshore (BV) recently participated in a significant event marking the naming and delivery of two Crown 63 PLUS bulk carrier vessels. This ceremony took place on January 3rd and was hosted by New Dayang Shipbuilding, a subsidiary of SUMEC Marine, for CDB Leasing. The event underscored the strong partnership among the involved parties and celebrated a major milestone in their ongoing collaboration.

Celebrating a Milestone in Shipbuilding

The vessels named during the ceremony, “CL JIANGMEN” and “CL FOSHAN,” represent the culmination of a substantial order from CDB Leasing. This order included a total of 39 vessels, comprising 31 units of 63,500-deadweight tonnage (dwt) bulk carriers and 8 units of 82,000-dwt bulk carriers. The delivery of these two vessels marks the completion of this significant order, showcasing New Dayang Shipbuilding’s capabilities and commitment to quality.

New Dayang Shipbuilding has made impressive strides in the shipbuilding industry. To date, the company has signed contracts for 105 units of 63,500-dwt bulk carriers. Bureau Veritas has classified 39 of these vessels, making it the highest number of vessels of this type classified at the shipyard. This achievement highlights the shipyard’s dedication to meeting industry standards and delivering reliable vessels to its clients.

The ceremony was not just a celebration of the vessels but also a testament to the enduring relationships among the companies involved. During the ceremony, Ma Hong, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of CDB Leasing, expressed her heartfelt appreciation to SUMEC and New Dayang Shipbuilding. Ma emphasized that this collaboration is a prime example of CDB Leasing’s commitment to promoting “domestic shipbuilding for domestic use” in commercial services. Chen Feng, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of SUMEC Group, also shared his thoughts during the event.
