Fugro bags multi-year offshore wind support deal with Van Oord

Fugro, the renowned Dutch surveying and engineering firm, has secured a significant long-term contract with Van Oord to deliver construction support services for offshore wind farms across Europe. This agreement is set for an initial term of three years, with the possibility of extension, highlighting the strong collaborative relationship between the two companies in the renewable energy sector.

The scope of the contract entails Fugro providing a suite of advanced remotely operated vehicle (ROV) systems, construction equipment, specialized personnel, and associated services aboard Van Oord’s vessels, Calypso and Subsea Viking. These ROVs will remain permanently stationed on the vessels throughout the contract period, ensuring continuous and reliable support. Fugro’s involvement will cover critical activities such as cable laying, trenching, and comprehensive survey operations, all of which are essential for accurate geo-data collection. This data is pivotal for precise positioning and construction, aimed at minimizing risks and optimizing the efficiency of future offshore wind operations.
