GTT signs a service contract for ENI’s Coral Sul FLNG in Mozambique
GTT Signs Key Service Deal with Coral Sul FLNG to Support LNG Operations in Africa
GTT to Provide Expert Support for Coral Sul FLNG Project
GTT, a leader in designing and maintaining containment systems for liquefied gas, has secured a service contract with Coral FLNG. This agreement focuses on providing technical support for Eni’s Coral Sul FLNG barge, located off the coast of Mozambique. Coral Sul FLNG is a groundbreaking project for Africa’s liquefied natural gas (LNG) industry, with the capacity to produce 3.4 million tonnes of LNG every year.
This floating LNG facility, known as FLNG, plays an essential role in meeting the growing global demand for natural gas. It holds 238,700 cubic meters of LNG using GTT’s advanced Mark III membrane containment system. This FLNG made history by delivering its first batch of LNG in November 2022.
GTT’s Role in Ensuring Smooth LNG Operations
Under the contract, GTT will offer a range of services to ensure the FLNG operates smoothly and safely. The company will provide both on-site and remote technical support, perform inspections and emergency assistance, conduct engineering work, and offer specialized training programs to enhance the efficiency of operations.
GTT’s services will focus on maintaining safety standards and ensuring that the storage tanks function properly throughout the project’s lifespan. These efforts will help prevent disruptions in LNG production and support the energy transition towards cleaner fuels.
GTT CEO Shares Vision for Africa’s LNG Growth
Jean-Baptiste Choimet, GTT’s Chief Executive Officer, said:
“We are proud to support Eni with the Coral Sul FLNG project, which plays an important role in developing the LNG industry in Africa. GTT is committed to offering tailored, innovative services that promote the transition to cleaner energy sources.”
