Maersk Expands Logistics Capabilities with New Facility in El Paso

A.P. Moller – Maersk has opened a new 402,000-square-foot logistics facility in El Paso, Texas, aimed at supporting the rising demand for cross-border trade between the United States and Mexico. The location, just five minutes from the Ysleta-Zaragoza International Bridge, offers a strategic advantage for swift and flexible transport of goods. Situated along a major trade corridor, it facilitates efficient movement for both northbound and southbound shipments between El Paso and Ciudad Juárez, as well as domestic routes within the U.S.

The facility boasts 73 dock doors, 116 truck yard spaces, and advanced cargo-handling capabilities, including two ramps for oversize loads. With Maersk’s extensive ground freight network, the site serves as a hub for cargo separation, consolidation, and distribution across North America. Enhanced security measures, such as 24-hour surveillance and a fully fenced yard, further ensure operational efficiency and safety.

As a customs bonded warehouse, the site allows for delayed duty payments and offers an 80,000-square-foot Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ), where goods can be stored duty-free. The facility is fully compliant with Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT) standards and holds ISO 9001:2015 certification for quality management. These features make it ideal for companies in various industries, including automotive, healthcare, retail, and technology, providing essential warehousing and logistics solutions across North America.

Maersk’s latest investment in El Paso adds to its portfolio of over 150 warehousing facilities in North America, strengthening its integrated logistics offerings to support businesses across the region.
