The event brought together industry sponsors, unions, and institutes of higher learning to support aspiring maritime professionals. The awards ceremony, graced by Mr. Baey Yam Keng, Senior Parliamentary Secretary for the Ministry of Sustainability and the Environment & Ministry of Transport, highlighted the maritime community’s commitment to fostering talent within Singapore’s evolving maritime sector.

The MaritimeONE Scholarship, awarded by 39 sponsoring organizations, reflects the diverse and dynamic nature of Singapore’s maritime ecosystem. This year, scholarships were presented to students from a wide range of fields, including maritime studies, data science, business analytics, law, and engineering. These scholarships not only recognize academic excellence but also offer recipients opportunities to engage in industry events, mentorships, and internships, nurturing the next generation of maritime leaders.

In a notable first, the MaritimeONE Scholarship was extended to students from the Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS), further expanding the program’s reach. The TMSS, established in 2002, continues to support students aiming to become ship captains or chief engineers. Both scholarship programs reflect a collective effort by the industry to equip future maritime leaders with the skills and knowledge needed to navigate the challenges of a rapidly evolving global maritime landscape.

The recipients of these scholarships expressed their enthusiasm for contributing to the industry’s transformation. From embracing technology and sustainability to pursuing leadership roles, they represent a new wave of talent ready to shape the future of Maritime Singapore.
