Naming Ceremony of U-Ming’s Two Bulk Carriers at New Dayang Shipyard
New Dayang Shipbuilding Names Two New Bulk Carriers in Milestone Ceremony
New Dayang Shipbuilding (NDY), an SUMEC Marine subsidiary, commemorated the naming of two cutting-edge 64,000 DWT bulk carriers, NDY1254 and NDY1255, on August 13. Asian Eternity and Asian Endurance were the official names of these ships, which are a component of the Far Eastern Group, given by U-Ming Shipping. In the continuing collaboration between U-Ming, New Dayang, and Bureau Veritas (BV), the classification society in charge of the ships’ standards, the ceremony represents a significant accomplishment.
Since the new bulk carriers are the first vessels from U-Ming Shipping to be constructed at the New Dayang shipyard, they mark a significant advancement for the company. Interestingly, NDY1254 marks a significant milestone as the 170th vessel supplied by New Dayang in accordance with BV’s classification. This accomplishment demonstrates the clients’ high level of satisfaction and confidence in New Dayang’s shipbuilding capabilities and demonstrates their dedication to upholding strict safety, quality, and environmental requirements.
The bulk carriers, which are a part of the CROWN 63 Plus series, are built with cutting-edge features to improve efficiency and performance. NDY1254 is identified as the 79th vessel of this class by Bureau Veritas; 33 vessels in all are categorised by New Dayang as belonging to the “CROWN 63 Plus <3.0 version>” series. These ships stand out due to their clever energy management systems and optimised structural design, which were created to match the exact specifications of U-Ming Shipping. In addition, they have obtained BV’s Smart(EnE1) and LNGFUEL-PREPARED notations, demonstrating their cutting-edge, future-ready design, and they have unique intellectual property.
Yongqin Yang, President of SUMEC Marine, expressed gratitude to U-Ming and BV for their ongoing trust and support. He emphasized SUMEC Marine’s commitment to putting customers first and continuously improving its green ship designs. The naming ceremony not only signifies a new chapter for the partnership but also represents an opportunity for all involved to leverage their strengths for continued mutual success and advancement.
