Bahamas Maritime Authority Appoints Türk Loydu as Recognised Organisation for Statutory Certification

The Bahamas Maritime Authority (BMA) has recently appointed Türk Loydu Uygunluk Değerlendirme Hizmetleri A.Ş. (Türk Loydu) as a Recognised Organisation, enabling them to carry out statutory certification and services for ships registered under The Commonwealth of Bahamas’ Merchant Shipping Act. This appointment highlights Türk Loydu’s adherence to the rigorous criteria set by the BMA for authorised classification societies.

Leadership within The Bahamas Maritime Authority expressed their satisfaction with the inclusion of Türk Loydu in their roster of Recognised Organisations. Capt. Dwain Hutchinson, Managing Director and CEO of the BMA, emphasized that Türk Loydu meets the stringent international requirements upheld by the Authority. Similarly, Stephen Keenan, Head of Inspections & Surveys at the BMA, acknowledged Türk Loydu’s capability to deliver statutory services and looks forward to a fruitful partnership.

Türk Loydu’s General Manager, Mr. Lütfü Savaşkan, conveyed pride in receiving this authorisation, viewing it as a testament to their commitment to safety, quality, and compliance in the maritime industry. He expressed eagerness to work closely with the BMA and the global maritime community to uphold and exceed international regulations and standards for vessels under the Bahamian flag.
