TotalEnergies Supplies Its First B100 Biofuel Bunker in Singapore
TotalEnergies Leads the Way with First B100 Biofuel Bunker Delivery in Singapore
On August 5, TotalEnergies Marine Fuels made a significant step in supporting the global push for cleaner shipping by successfully delivering its first B100 biofuel bunker in Singapore. This operation is part of the company’s broader effort to provide low-carbon fuel options and reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the maritime industry.
The delivery involved 700 metric tons of biofuel made from 100% Used Cooking Oil Methyl Ester (UCOME). This eco-friendly fuel was transferred to the ship Glovis Cosmos, owned by Hyundai Glovis, using a tanker from Global Energy Group. By using waste-based fuel like UCOME, TotalEnergies is helping reduce competition for agricultural land and offering a more sustainable alternative to traditional marine fuels.
This event is noteworthy because it marks the first time TotalEnergies Marine Fuels has delivered a 100% biofuel bunker, with the potential to cut greenhouse gas emissions by 80% to 90%. Additionally, the company has digitalized its operations, using an Electronic Bunker Delivery Note to ensure safe and efficient fuel transfers.

With a strong presence in key global ports and a commitment to research and development, TotalEnergies Marine Fuels is playing a crucial role in the maritime industry’s shift toward cleaner, more sustainable fuels.
