SeaLead Shipping, SLPA launch new weekly direct liner service

SeaLead Shipping has partnered with the Sri Lanka Ports Authority (SLPA) to launch a new weekly direct liner service at the Port of Colombo. This service will improve trade and shipping links between the Far East, India, and East Africa. It is part of SeaLead’s Far East India Djibouti (FID) service.

The new FID service, which began on September 5, offers weekly shipments connecting major ports in China, India, and Djibouti. According to SLPA, this service is expected to greatly increase the shipping traffic and trade connections between these regions.

The westbound route of the FID service starts from the busy port of Shanghai in China. From there, the ship makes stops at other important ports such as Ningbo, Nansha, Port Klang, Colombo, Nhava Sheva, and Mundra. The journey ends at the port in Djibouti, which is an essential hub for trade in East Africa.

On the way back, the eastbound route goes straight from Djibouti to Shanghai, making the trade process smoother and faster for all regions involved. This round-trip service helps keep the flow of goods steady between Asia, India, and East Africa.
