ADSB and ASRY Join Forces for Naval Development
Abu Dhabi Ship Building (ADSB) and Arab Shipbuilding and Repair Yard (ASRY) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on the development of naval auxiliary vessels and port crafts. This partnership aims to leverage the strengths of both organizations to enhance the maritime industry in the region. The agreement was formalized during the Naval Defence & Maritime Security Exhibition (NAVDEX) 2025 in Abu Dhabi, which runs until February 21.
Strategic Collaboration in Maritime Industry
The MoU was signed by David Massey, CEO of ADSB, and Dr. Ahmed Al Abri, CEO of ASRY, in the presence of notable figures including Shaikh Mohamed bin Rashed AlKhalifa and Hamad Al Marar. This collaboration marks a significant milestone in the maritime sector, combining ADSB’s expertise in naval vessel design and construction with ASRY’s established reputation in repair and maintenance.
David Massey emphasized the importance of this partnership, stating, “This MoU marks a significant step in strengthening collaboration within the region’s maritime industry.” He highlighted the goal of delivering world-class solutions that cater to the evolving needs of customers. The joint committee formed under this MoU will assess the feasibility of various projects, ensuring that both entities can effectively address market demands.
Dr. Ahmed Al Abri expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, noting that it reflects a shared vision to explore new opportunities in naval auxiliary vessels and port craft projects. He stated, “This agreement reflects our shared vision to leverage our complementary strengths to explore new opportunities in naval auxiliary vessels and port craft projects.” This collaboration aims to enhance the sovereign capabilities of the region’s maritime sector, positioning both ADSB and ASRY as leaders in the industry.
Visitors to NAVDEX 2025 can view ADSB’s range of products and services at Stand B-022 and at the dock-edge area at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre until February 21, 2025. This event serves as a platform for showcasing advancements in naval technology and maritime solutions.
