Vantage Drilling Secures $80 Million Contract

Vantage Drilling has officially secured a contract for its drillship, the Platinum Explorer, originally built in 2010. This contract follows a conditional letter of award received on April 23, which was later extended on July 22 by an undisclosed client. The agreement is valued at approximately $80 million and is expected to span 260 days, including mobilization and demobilization periods.

Details of the Contract and Strategic Developments

The contract for the Platinum Explorer is set to commence in the first quarter of 2026. Vantage Drilling emphasized that the contract’s finalization was contingent upon the client meeting specific terms and conditions, as well as obtaining necessary approvals. This significant contract marks a pivotal moment for Vantage Drilling, reinforcing its position in the offshore drilling sector.
