Nikkiso Partners with SunRui for Advanced Marine Pump Solutions
Nikkiso Clean Energy & Industrial Gases Group (Nikkiso CE&IG) has announced a significant partnership with SunRui Marine Environment Engineering Co., Ltd to provide next-generation cryogenic pump skids tailored for dual-fueled vessels. This agreement solidifies Nikkiso’s position as a key player in the marine fueling sector and outlines a comprehensive commercial framework aimed at enhancing vessel conversions. The collaboration will involve a large-scale manufacturing initiative that integrates Nikkiso’s advanced pump technology into SunRui’s fuel gas supply systems for major shipowners globally.
Expanding Manufacturing Capacity and Technical Expertise
The partnership comes as Nikkiso CE&IG ramps up its manufacturing capabilities to meet the increasing demands of the marine market. A significant investment is being made in the Hangzhou Cryogenic Industries Co., a China-based hub that will bolster production capacity and enhance technical capabilities. This strategic move aims to ensure the efficient delivery of complex skid-based solutions for marine applications worldwide.
Nikkiso’s commitment to innovation is evident in its recently launched fuel gas supply system (FGSS), which debuted at the end of 2025. After a decade of operational experience with over 400 vessels utilizing Nikkiso’s low-pressure and high-pressure LNG fuel pumps, this latest generation of cryogenic pumps promises remarkable advancements in reliability and efficiency. The new pumps are designed to minimize maintenance and operational costs, setting a new standard in the industry.
Brian Jones, Senior Vice-President of Sales and Marketing at Nikkiso CE&IG’s Pumps division, emphasized the importance of this project, stating, “This initiative reflects our long-term commitment to the marine industry and our capability to deliver scalable solutions that facilitate the transition to cleaner energy.” He added that by leveraging their technical expertise and expanded production capabilities, Nikkiso is empowering partners like SunRui to confidently navigate the evolving regulatory and environmental landscape of the global marine market.
